Becoming a Global Leader
"I met new people but I also met a new version of myself."
Becoming a Global learner helped me to see the world in a whole new light. I was able to engage in fun and enlightening lectures, meet new people and I also met a new version of myself. In this program not only did I learn the importance of how to enrich the lives of local and global communities…I also cultivated becoming a leader, resilience and diplomacy. These are qualities that I developed and can last for a lifetime. I believe what I’ve learned will assist me in the next chapter of my life and the in lives of others. Making a difference as a global citizen is my innate passion and I want to be in position to encourage and give that push of motivation.

My plans for the future are to take all that I have learned and use it to the best of my ability to make a difference in this world. Volunteers are needed at the Church World Service (CWS). Although I am currently taking classes and interning, I will make the time and apply as a virtual tutor for their refugee program. Becoming a global leader means understanding your role in wearing that medallion. It comes with responsibilities that would like to honor.

As I reflect on my four-year college journey, all I can say is WOW…I did it! I accomplished something that at one point of my life though was impossible. College intimidated me but I’m glad that I took a leap of faith and now I’m about to cross the finish line.

Thank you Florida International University, for having a program where I can extend a helping hand and help me become the Global Leader I am today!
